Care Assistant

What You’ll Do

As a Care Assistant, you’ll support people to live well in the comfort of their own homes. Every visit is personal, and your role is to bring reassurance, dignity, and a warm presence to the people we care for.

Key Responsibilities

  • Help with washing, bathing, dressing, and personal hygiene
  • Support with toileting, continence care, and mobility
  • Prompt or administer medication and record details accurately
  • Prepare and serve meals and drinks, supporting healthy nutrition
  • Provide companionship, conversation, and emotional support
  • Help with light housekeeping tasks like laundry, tidying, and cleaning
  • Accompany clients on outings, errands, or to appointments
  • Provide sensitive support during illness or end-of-life care
  • Communicate with families and professionals when needed

Essential Qualities

  • A kind and compassionate nature
  • Good communication skills
  • Reliable and responsible
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Flexible with shift availability, including some weekends
  • Willingness to undertake a DBS check
  • Committed to high standards of care and conduct

Desirable

  • Experience in a care or support role
  • NVQ/QCF Level 2 in Health & Social Care
  • Medication training
  • A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
  • Business insurance if using your car for work

£13.00–£15.00 per hour (plus mileage)
