This week, Starling Homecare had the pleasure of organizing a community talk at St Stephen’s Church Hall, bringing together members of our local elderly community for an uplifting afternoon centered on strength, stability, and staying confident while active.
This week, we were delighted to have organised a community talk at St Stephen’s Church, welcoming members of our local elderly community for an afternoon focused on strength, stability and remaining confident whilst active. We were fortunate to have a professional physiotherapist join us, sharing practical advice, simple exercises, and valuable insights to help reduce the risk of falls and enhance confidence in movement. The session was relaxed, friendly, and infused with positive energy, complemented by tea and biscuits enjoyed by all.
A highlight of the talk was the open discussion, where attendees shared their personal experiences with slips and falls. This honest conversation helped normalize the topic and break down the embarrassment often associated with such incidents. It reinforced an important message: falls are common, but there are proactive steps everyone can take to reduce risk and boost confidence.
Community events like this remind us that bringing people together to learn, move, and share experiences creates a supportive local network.
We are incredibly grateful to our visiting physiotherapist for delivering such an engaging and informative session, and to all who attended and contributed to the warm, welcoming atmosphere.
